It even has the speaker in the effigy’s face. Exquisite, indeed!
I like the little mountains. Sadly, like the Scrabble tiles, their significance is presumably lost on Lottie.
Two of the peaks are even coloured purple – the colour of Swiss cows! Now if this isn’t another hint Lottie utterly glazed over…
If it’s Swiss cows, perhaps the hint was grazed over.

The effigy is genuinely quite frightening.
I love mysteries. They have people keeping their shit together through things that would send a normal person gibbering to the asylum. Just imagine if this actually happened to you.
Well, at least if all else goes sideways, Lottie now has a spiffy digital picture frame.

Lottie’s face admiring the picture frame is a mix of surprise, wonder and fear. It’s a beautiful handmade frame, but show perfectly how deep is Evilottie’s madness.
Also beautifully done was the foreshadowing in the first balloon in panel 1: “Come on Lottie, frame yourself.”

And, of course, that’s how this whole thing started.
Now starting to think Skelottie will be given away by her process video building this unique blackmail pictureframe.

I’m wondering now where I can get my own Evilottie picture frame with dread inducing instructions how to save my friends. Also love that Lottie’s got four puffers.

John, if we haven’t driven you away from the comments by now, I just want to compliment you on your art. It keeps getting better and better. You’re a master of facial expressions, and that picture frame is amazing.

Well, he’d instantly know that the digital picture frame wasn’t a real antique, that’s for sure! But he’d intuitively feel the passion and effort that went into crafting it.
Props to Bette’s props. If your gonna go full batman villian , do it up. Though stuff like this is why Lottie really should not have come back solo. I get why she did , she’s a stubborn shortarse who thinks, and often proves, she can handle anything, I just worry.
On the gocomics situation as someone who uses it for a lot of strips it blows to add another subscription to my budget. I’m willing to do it to support creators and help comics survive but a little heads up would’ve been nice. All the site announced was it was changing. And for fans of just one strip especially with so many sparsely collected it is frustrating. Bad machinery at least has books. A lot of strips can’t say the same

The infamous Deutsch Angle
Something about the last panel makes me think is the best single picture of Lottie. There is something mature and serious but almost playful in her facial expression. She looks properly confident. Not arrogant, but she knows her strength. B will pay for this.
Note, though, that that same panel shows just how well Beate knows Lottie. That recorded “As if you would”, playing right after Lottie says the exact same thing… And Lottie still has no idea who she’s up against.
Well, at least Beate Noire can open an Etsy shop when she gets out.

I wonder if Beate’s leaving these little clues to her identity because she wants Lottie to figure it out, or because she’s confident that Lottie WON’T figure it out, and it gives her something to gloat and feel superior about. I could see it either way. (And right after writing that I remembered that TheWreck left a very similar comment on the previous page.)
Either way, she wins, because it’s all about Beate now. She has been *noticed*.
