Oh thank goodness, I have awoken from my appalling visions a changed and chastened man. Or have I? I’m not sure. It was all such a blur and it’s fading fast now. Anyway, THE END.
Comics will return on January 1st as Wobbly Head continues. And I’ll post my albums of the year list later this week. But it’s time for me to take my court-mandated break from making comics, so however you celebrate the festive season, please have a safe and peaceful one. See you in 2025.
Look at these magnificent images. I’d picked up a real head of steam. Just imagine if I could work at this speed all the time. I’d be able to draw (thinks) more than a thousand pages a year. Yes, here’s everyone’s Christmas present, Fit Mum and Tom Grendel from ill-starred comic “The Great Unboxing”. That’s right, I can bring back anybody, even characters no one remembers! Steeple volume 4 looks good, doesn’t it? Unlike “Jack” and “Steve”, whoever they may be. Part 5 on Friday!
Oh alas the poor cartoonist. Pity him, chained to his easel even when wassailers come. But who is the greatest wassailer of them all? Warlock Brian Fitzpatrick from Steeple of course. A merry figure even when he is forcing you to regard the whole planet from the upper atmosphere. Part 4 on Wednesday!
Two visitations in quick succession. Both, obviously, extremely welcome, as these two characters are very dear to my heart, even when they are tormenting me. Part 3 on Monday!
I wrote this story when all the windows in my house were being replaced. It was -3°C outside and I had to keep warm, so I did it by writing and drawing 12 pages in 2 days. It’s difficult to describe how I felt after I finished.
The pages are being released in twos because in the absence of quality, it’s best to pump up the quantity. But this is quite a good project, it’s got a certain power, as you will discover. See you on Friday for part 2.
