I am only one year older than you if memory serves, and I got my license at 25. But I feel like I spent many years with paper maps and Expedia printouts before the wonder of borrowing a stand-alone GPS unit with terrible sensitivity that was supposed to (but rarely could) connect to a slow PDA for navigation.
