Black Metal Simon was a powerful (if seldom seen) figure, who did have a slight return (or in real terms, an introduction) in Shelley’s first Giant Days appearance.

Regardless Shelley is respectful of all historic religious and cultural sites, it’s not what she would’ve wanted.
Although he’s definitely the worst of all of Shelley’s exes Black Metal Simon is my favorite for how hilarious he is and how perfectly he represents the destructive buffoonery of Varg Vikernes and his ilk.
I never noticed this before but Shelley’s tea cup in panel 2 is a screaming Black Metal Simon mug.
