I wonder if Beate’s leaving these little clues to her identity because she wants Lottie to figure it out, or because she’s confident that Lottie WON’T figure it out, and it gives her something to gloat and feel superior about. I could see it either way. (And right after writing that I remembered that TheWreck left a very similar comment on the previous page.)
