The self-published Giant Days archive

New comics return on August 23rd. But the Giant Days self-published archive is back up here: scarygoround.com/giantdays. I’m sure that a lot of you will have read these pages in the past, but perhaps they will be new to one or two of you. I’ve put up the full-colour version of the first Giant Days comic that appeared in Early Registration, rather than the monochrome version that ran back in the day.
For the rest of the week I will run a few of my favourite pages, with some commentary/anecdotes that will surely illuminate the creative process. If I can’t think of anything interesting to say, I’ll tell lies (UPDATE: I DID NOT HAVE TO LIE).
That was a lot of fun – thanks!
Thanks as always John! Get some good R&R. In the meantime I’ll definitely enjoy some trips down memory lane with these archives!
The R&R is in the past, I’m working like a horse right now!!
Like Gary the horse? So maybe you’re working on a crime spree?
Thanks!
Oh that’s great, I’ll go read those again! I look forward to the commentary.
BTW I’m very sad about the story that you were forced to take down. I thought it was an excellent contribution the genre of swashbucklers, I really enjoyed it, and wish I knew how it went. Let’s hope your other genre contributions can continue to be appreciated by fans. I don’t always comment but I never miss an update.
Susan’s cape and campaign speech (as it were) in the student council election has, genuinely, never left my mind since reading it a decade ago.
I assume you’ve already noticed steeple.church is now squatted.
I never look back
Just what I needed for a morning in bed with the lurgy, thanks John!
Here to serve, here to serve. Get well soon!
I started reading Giant Days when it was published as a print comic. From context, I figured there was prequel material that we issue-readers didn’t get. I look forward to actually reading it now. Thanks!
Oooh! Giant Days 1 in colour! And some new pages!!! Definitely time for a re-read.
Thanks for doing this sort of re-release thing. After finally following a recommendation to your stuff last year I consumed steeple, bad machinery and what free stuff of bobbins I could find. I was under the impression all of giant days was in book form, and being a frugal northerner sort of ignored it. Having binged this and thoroughly enjoyed it I ended up buying the full set of library edition books 😆
