Just a quick update. After having to take down the Conan comics I have been back at the drawing board. I’ve almost finished writing a new Solver issue and will begin running pages once I have a decent buffer of pages in the bank – probably at the beginning of June (TBC). It’s been tough to get writing from a standing start (and the results may be somewhat wayward) but, as ever, I will endeavour to entertain you going forward.
Remember when I used to design tshirts? I certainly do. Bad news, I forgot how to do it. But that means that if you’ve got one, it’s an appreciating asset as long as you didn’t stretch out the neck by trying to put it on while wearing a crash helmet.
Back when I still knew how, I designed the following shirts that are now just $15 on Topatoco. They’re all on this page, along with signed books and “much much more”.
Sale ends May 31st, after which they will be going to t-shirt heaven (the moon?)
With Steeple wound up for now/forever I am letting its expensive .church vanity domain name go. The archive will be maintained at steeple.badmachinery.com. Please update your bookmarks (does anyone still bookmark things?)
I’m trying to tidy up my messy post-2016 web presence and close down some of the satellite websites. First to go is the old Destroy History site, all the comics are now archived here with the recent side projects.
I wrote “to be continued” at the end of the last Destroy History comic page, and scripted a new DH story in 2022, but found it beyond my skill to draw. That’s hard to explain without you seeing it, so I put the whole 32-page rough version up on Patreon (links below). I think the original Destroy History: NEMS was a product of the intense focus of the pandemic lockdown and by the time I got to part 2, I wasn’t quite up to it. Tough years! I’ve now unlocked these posts so everyone can read what might have been.

In-depth commentary and explanation
I’ve been asked a lot recently about signed books, so we’ve added Steeple volumes 1-3 to Topatoco – they all come with signed bookplates at no extra charge. Get them here!
The Giant Days “Snooker Could Be Better” minis have now sold out. I have a handful of copies left for a UK event in July. I may do a short run collecting all the Solver comics from 2022-2023 (Spring Special > Boys Like Fun), as none of my publishers have expressed any interest in it. If you’re interested in this project, let me know in the comments and I can begin to work out numbers.
Here’s a five page preview of the next issue of GREAT BRITISH BUMP OFF, out next week. The link’s to my Patreon but it’s an unlocked post.
