AT LAST: Giant Days Hardcovers Kickstarter
One of the questions I am most frequently asked is whether Boom! Studios will ever complete the “Not On The Test” eight-issue plus extras hardcover Giant Days series. As of today, frustrated Not On The Testers will be able to complete their collections via a new Kickstarter campaign running until October 17th. There are new library editions too, and a host of fun add-ons, plus some grote stretch goals if we get there. Great stretch goals. Freudian slip. Sorry.
ITEM! You can get me to do a character sketch with my claw-like paw, in direct contravention of my strict ten-year COMMISSIONS CLOSED rule. Or a sketch from Max Sarin, if you prefer “professionalism” and “god-given talent”.
Take a look at the campaign page. If nothing else, it is brightly coloured and bound to lift your mood.
You asked, we have answered. Do not waste this opportunity, because I am not sure I can make this magic happen again.
Ah, wish I could afford to splurge on the sketch, but… guess I’ll just have to settle for the books. Oh well.
Thanks a Lottie! I mean a lot!
Done and done!
This. Changes. Everything.
Absolutely chuffed (and not at all surprised) to see this project is already a runaway success. Much-deserved congratulations!
WHOOOOOOO!!!!
Well, heck. I need to pay more attention to these news posts, apparently. I’ve been reading Bad Machinery regularly but somehow never scrolled down and saw the news post about the Kickstarter until it was already over.
Well, I may have missed out on the Kickstarter itself, but it looks like it’s not too late to preorder the books, so that’s something, at least.
(Although at the moment I am awaiting the arrival of some paychecks and money is a bit tight, so I do wonder exactly when it WILL be too late to preorder the books…)
Little Claire is so beautiful. I hope she finds a worthy man and I hope he survives.
Regarding my previous message about money being tight and wondering how long I had to preorder the books… wow I am dumb. So I finally had enough money in my account I went ahead and ordered them… and then saw the message that my card would not be charged until the order was ready to be fulfilled. Well… of course. I should have known that. And fulfillment is far enough off I can be pretty confident I’ll have the money then. I didn’t have to wait until I had enough available credit on my card; I could have put in the order at any time. Whoops. Oh well. I’ve preordered them now, anyway.
Wait, okay, never mind, my card just got charged, so apparently I was reading it wrong. Which in retrospect I should have known, as it wouldn’t make any sense for it not to be charged before the shipping date. I don’t know what I was thinking. I am an idiot.
Oh, well, at least I got my preorder in.
okay – i’m admittedly a bad fan for not keeping up with every blog-style post made by sir allison on every possible platform, but i’m having an anxiety attack that i somehow missed this announcement… like nine-months-worth of anxiety. i already own the first three editions – is it at all possible to somehow get in on the other four somewhere?? or will the new “library editions” that are scheduled to come out over the next several months serve a similar purpose? please – please – pretty please – as a man who has been around long enough to own every “scary go round” collection (except that f’in SECOND ONE – DAMN YOU) – please let me know (by your correspondence method of choice).
John, I am sorry to tell you that as part of the Kickstarter you could get editions 4 to 7 which exactly matched the first three editions in livery and would complete your shelf seamlessly. I think your chance to get those has vanished. But volumes 4-7 of the new, widely available library editions will contain the exact same material.
thank you kindly for the response, despite its contents. i will make a point to collect the latest versions – i’m sure they will look lovely next to the (literal) eight other form factors i already have of your various books, my shelving be damned.
