You may remember Jack Finch from such comics as Bad Machinery. He has a long track record with Shelley’s sister Erin (and her antagonistic relationship with the mystery kids), but his run-ins with Shelley have probably been limited. I think his fellow child mysterion Lottie would no doubt have filled him (and everyone else) in on her mentor Shelley, doubtless at length. I thought maybe they had appeared on panel together but Linton was the recipient of the patronising hair ruffle back in this comic from a long time ago.
When I wrote this, i wasn’t 100% sure that Avon was an international thing. So I looked it up and it is. Avon don’t call like they used to, mind. I have to get all my slap and stinks from Superdrug now.
My feeling is that this is about the third week of their freshman university year. Things move fast in those first few weeks. empires rise and fall. In this story, look forward to all Shelley’s old tricks: constant prodding and poking of people foremost among them. There are few jabbier fingers in the last quarter century of comics.
We are up and running. Oasis’ Be Here Now is a record that people of a certain age remember for two things: its omnipresence, and its tedium. When it received a 20th anniversary reissue in 2017, Noel Gallagher remixed one song, then admitted that he had lost the will to live and left the rest to posterity.

A new eight-week story starts on Monday. It features faces old and new, but a new setting. Think of it as both a sequel and a prequel. This is a “pilot” for a new series, if it is well received, there will be more next year. If it stinks up the joint, we’ll all agree to forget it.
