Claire has clearly spent a lot of time with Lottie if she’s now saying “La!”
I think Lottie got it from Mildred, but Lottie is the sort of person whose voice keeps playing in your head long after she’s gone. I was accused of this once and I couldn’t tell if was a compliment but I took it as such.
I just realized that BOTH LOTTIE AND CLAIRE USE HIS ACTUAL NAME ON THIS PAGE.
They sensed something was amiss…
Technically Lottie called him Glenn-boy, not Glyph. So very close, though.
Claire almost always uses his actually name. When she first knew Glenn, she sometimes went along with Lottie on the name thing, but I don’t think I’ve seen her do that in ages. Even Lottie doesn’t consistently get his name wrong anymore- I think she only does it when she remembers to, at this point.
The last time I remember Claire “going along with it” was when she was trying to think up alternate names Lottie could have put his reservation under for the D-Slide show.
Maybe once these two catch wind of what Glenn is running from, Claire might refer to him as Cathey’s Clown. (She did pop off a “Too Busy Thinking About My Baby” reference for Lottie’s Nero arc, after all).
This is bad. Maybe it’s a sign they will never see Glenn again!

Dean probably has something to do with Glenn disappearing so suddenly. Maybe them now are having that voyage together Glenn wanted to do, maybe they already meet the two merry widows! But this means Lottie and Claire could have a possibility to meet Cathey without him around… AWESOME!
I was going to say that a ferry, by definition, is not ‘to sea’, but then I realised that as a natural firebug, any body of water is Claire’s elemental nemesis.
If you take a ferry from one country to another, across a sea or body of water, surely you are going “to sea”. I yield to specific nautical knowledge but this sounds hooky.
As an islander (that island being Britane) every ferry trip I have taken (except one on Windermere and maybe one across a river in … I want to say Devon) has been ‘at sea’ whether to France, to a smaller, Scottish island, to the Republic of Ireland, or to the Isle of Man. We go on lots of ferries and while generally the seas involved are not vast and heaving, they are definitely seas.
There are ferries across the entire Baltic Sea! Sometimes they sink catastrophically!
Well, once. But that once was certainly catastrophic enough.
Only two of the ferry trips I’ve ever taken have not been on sea.
Once across the Mersey and once across the Bosphoros.
The Turkish one had better coffee, but it didn’t have Gerrry and the Pacemakers on a continuous loop.
Fun fact, the Mersey is wide and brackish enough at that point that it’s considered an estuary anyhow. So I’d rate it as half sea, or a C-
I have been on one lake ferry in the British Columbia Interior but there used to be a ferry across the Fraser river about ten minutes drive from my house and I took that many many times. (Recently most ferries I’ve been on have been ocean ones though, across the Salish Sea.)
