I used to get horribly car sick when I was a kid, regardless of whether I was looking out the window or not. It went away completely by the time I grew up.

When I was… 16 or 17? I went to Europe with my grandparents- first time I crossed the Atlantic (out of twice). We spent a couple of weeks in France, then crossed the channel to England, at which point my grandparents got sick and we had to cut our journey short. The craft we crossed the Channel on was called the Viking Victory. I remember I felt really sick below deck, but was fine above- I felt like my seasickness was caused by the discrepancy between the motion I was feeling and the lack of motion visually, so when I was up on deck and could actually see everything moving around, I felt fine. I’ve been on many boats since then, even slept on a boat, and have never felt seasick again, as far as I can remember. On the otehr hand, very, very occasionally, I’ll suddenly get really dizzy when walking on solid ground.
