Physicist are known for their brutal habit of approximating cows or chicken to perfect spheres; clowns handle balls and the likes for their whimsical crafts.
If who we saw in NEMS was really Mildred, she’s just taken the socially well regarded path to express her pierrotesque being.
I hope everybody has experienced the hometown pub pre-holiday friends’ reunion at least once! Around here it’s a Thanksgiving-eve tradition and it always lifts the spirits
Unlike many of you, I don’t think Mildred is a closet clown. I think she’s just evil and that’s the evil leaking out in the most socially acceptable form. She’s the friend who helps you organize cow tipping and snipe hunts, and inappropriate hen parties for the unsuspecting.
Chaotic neutral, tending just a bit toward Good, I’d say. Though I don’t really think D&D alignments work very well to describe most non-D&D characters.
YEEEEEEESS! Can’t wait to see Mildred working with the Solver team. Meanwhile, Shelley’s plan to make Lottie interested in Jack is working. We may never know why she decided that the two are good for each other, but I’m starting to really like the idea.
I actually had a cousin who dropped out of high school to attend a clown college (she later got her GED). She was pretty good at it and can juggle while riding a unicycle, demonstrable skills that are probably more useful than most of what I retained from high school. She even made pretty good money from various clown and circus gigs, especially since women are underrepresented among unicyclists.
I could read an entire three-issue series that was just this bunch interacting with each other. Thank you so much for this.
I imagine that there was always a part of Mildred that was always, then and forever, clown. Was that face painted on, or was it… Revealed?
It’s like making a sculpture
It’s already there, you just need to chisel the true form within
Deep down, I still suspect that Mildred was the real Clown Queen all along, and she set up the whole Circus Windows thing for Lottie’s benefit.
Ever since the appearance of John Cloake it was obvious it was all a clown joke.
Aha! A “Clohn Joake” no less!
She’s a closet Jugalo. I’ve always suspected.
Linton’s shaken fist from the car window! I love it!
But without the clowning around from almost a year ago, Lottie wouldn’t be in the same mental space today.
Not sure I want to go to The Unkind Physio.
When needs must
There’s a fitness place I’ve walked past that has the tagline “Burpees hate you too”, I think that’s the kind of vibe the Unkind Physio would go for
It would be such a bad name for a physio, I have to assume it’s a Wetherspoons or similar.

She is going to solve the Case of the Temporal Displacement
did John do us a bamboozle when he said the mystery of Jack in the 90s would go unsolved for the foreseeable future
I hope so
You start going down
When you start going clown!

Unfortunately, it appears that Mildred will always be down to clown.

Mildew’s not evil; she’s just a little Chaotic Neutral.

It’s not official until she gets her clown egg
She GOT her egg. https://badmachinery.com/comic/2021-03-24/
