CIRCUS WINDOWS PART 2
This spectacular cover image is brought to you by the incredible Max Sarin, artist on GIANT DAYS and WICKED THINGS!
If you can’t wait to find out what happens over the course of the next couple of months, Circus Windows pt 2 will be available in full to $3 and up subscribers to my Patreon on Monday morning. Thank you so much to the Scary Go Round Patreon army, whose contributions have kept these webcomics coming, ad-free, over the last year.
Excellent cover. But… where’s Mildred?
I’ve been seeing this as the story of Charlotte getting her mojo back after the events of Wicked Things. Mildred is obvs central to this story, but the main action is Lottie’s internal redemption arc. (In this essay I will dot dot dot)
Oh noes! The clowns gotter!
She died, weren’t you reading?
A pie is a much more effective weapon than a rubber chicken.
You’ve got this, Lottie!
What you don’t realize is, Lottie baked those pies herself.
So, they’re probably lethal.
Wonderful!
Plus I’ll bet that lapel flower squirts water!
Maybe even something stronger.
Ribena perhaps.
“Oi! She can get only two of us!”
“Aye, but do you want to be one o’ th’ two?”
I’m lovin’ Lottie’s outfit! Though without a clown nose or at least a red painted nose, isn’t she more of a mime or does the flower in the jacket make her a full-fledged clown?
This is how Lottie draws them out. There’s nothing clowns hate more than a mime.
I can’t believe that even clowns would try to murder a mime, though. A mime’s a terrible thing to waste.
She looks like Captain America getting on the elevator.
I understood that reference.
Open for a big surpies
Lead weighted rubber chicken, a deadly weapon in the proper hands.
This cover is perfect (almost good as yours, almost)! Max Sarin is really amazing ♡.
Real moral dilemma here: if I enlist in the Scary Go Round Patreon Army, I know I’ll read the entire “Circus Windows Part 2” immediately and then what would I do for the next 6 weeks?
Read it again, join in the comments, see little things you might have missed before, and enjoy it all over again. And enjoy John’s other Patreon posts.
Yeah that’s what I do
Moi aussi!
Uh-oh. Lottie’s found the only thing that can destroy clowns – she’s GONE MIME!! They’re in trouble now. I fear for her soul, though. This is what they get for calling her ‘Chibi Vampirella’…
“In order to defeat the clown menace, first I have to become the clown menace” –Charlotte Grotte
Mime. She’s a mime, not a clown. Huge diff.
I am having a complicated and slightly fraught reaction to this cover (which is excellent).
“Clowns are a superstitious and cowardly lot…”
This is the most frightening thing I’ve seen all week.
Lottie certainly looks confident.
Evil clowns with glowing eyes…
Soon extinguished by custard cream pies…
Well I hope the publisher of Wicked Things sees this and IMMEDIATELY greenlights more comics written by John and drawn by Max. Superlatives fail me here!
Wait! WAIT.
Can’t believe this just occurred to me.
Mimes are goth clowns.
*mind blown*
Lottie’s hat game is leagues beyond any of these clowns. If there’s anything I’ve learned from Professor and Professora Foglio’s long-running documentary series, a strong hat game is essential to commanding the proper degree of respect/fear/awe/&c. from your friends/enemies/admirers/&c.
