Into the mystic
I know that a lot of situations in Solver are resolved by objects or people being bodily flung into the distance. Let me be clear: this is a feature of the series, not a bug.

looks like team rocket’s blasting off again!
I can only imagine that someone, miles away in Sheffield, is about to get a stag through their kitchen window and be very confused.
Maybe not that immediately. It looks like she may have hurled the beast into next week.
An L.O.B. – Low Orbital Buck
It will land in Tim Jones’ house or shack where he will labor to find out where the random falling stag came from and create some new trans dimensional gadget that will inevitably threaten the fate of the Bobbinsverse.
Vintage 1970 pop-culture reference. Well done.
Well, these sibs are Boomers.
Insolent Cervid is my hardcore band that only records Christmas songs.
I think I have a single you recorded. It’s Reining Deer.
Not very Christmasy, but certainly seasonal.
Rocky Rococo, at your cervid.
What cracked?
Hettie’s knuckles, I believe.
Find out tomorrow…
I thought it might be the urn.
That’s the obvious answer, isn’t it? Pop’s ashes get scattered and the problem is solved!
I think that’s the buck, landing painfully in the next county.
It also might be the car. That would be unfortunate.
I actually feel kinda sorry for that insolent cervid.
The Mystic? Could this be in my old stomping grounds of Charlestown Massachusetts? That seems unlikely but Google isn’t turning up a “Mystic” in the UK for me.
I thought Mystic was in Connecticut.
Maybe Van Morrison’s song “Into The Mystic”?
At least I wasn’t the only one who thought that.
Oh my god I noticed the Mystic and thought of the song but missed the joke duhhhhhh
Larks’ tongues in mystic
Gotta watch out in the mystic or you might be bitten by an aspic.
Or bitten IN the aspic.
And all this time I was thinking that the stag was their father come back to excoriate them for dithering with his ashes.
If it was, I’m guessing he’s wishing right now that he’d projected a little more clearly on his deathbed.
Don’t we all.
A+ comment
Bug, feature, or otherwise, something of unexpected size getting flung across the panel like a confused trashcan is always welcomed and encouraged.
Confused Trashcan, Hettie’s Knuckles, Insolent Cervid – what is YOUR vote for this week’s Comment Section Band Name?
Insolent Cervid is pure gold.
Solid Gold
I hope that Hettie sufficient cracked the poor stag’s neck and not leaved it writhing in agony. Also they shouldn’t move on they’re all wasting the potential for a good venison stew.
That’s…..what I was thinking.
I wish my problems could be solved just by finding the right thing to throw…… Well perhaps they can.
Stanage Plantation, where the birdwatchers are about to be very, very confused.
Nah. They’d just say “Oh look, another flying ungulate. Hetty’s at it again.”
That’s what they call “Passing the buck”.
*slow clap*
No, very fast clap!
The buck stops… somewhere way over there.
I thought passing an intact buck would involve more screaming in agony …
It’s only a bug if the featured unwonted projectile is a VW Beetle.
I really want a Hettie backstory now. She’s friggin’ cool!
CRACK!
Sounds like that stag don’t land softly…
At first I wondered if Hettie had met her match but she has the measure of most ungulates it seems
Is “crack” ominous or just the natural relief of stress?
That was nor ordinary stag, that was the BMF of the herd. Now the herd will show up and bow to Hettie like they’ve bowed to no human since Maplethorpe _pere_ tossed a stag in the same way, 50 years ago.
The Deer Hurler
Alt: The Deer Punter
I am impressed by Hettie. I am about 100kg, and 2 meters. My father raises giant Hampshire sheep that weigh about 2 times me and taller then the Shetland pony. The wrestling during shearing is a test of wills not tossing one into the heavens. GADS woman!
The author may or may not have played a LOT of smash brothers back in the day.
“GAME!”
A STAGgering artistic achievement, John!
