…or Porcupine Tree
Porcupine Tree are two Irish brothers who make up for their limited musical ability with pots of enthusiasm. Jedward are a respected prog rock act of long standing. Wait, did I get that the right way round? Only one of these acts is great mates with Enya. Whichever one you think it is… it’s the other one.
Just looks like Robert Pattinson and herself wot could pass as his mum probably
Lottie is a tiny triangle. Trinangle. Jedward.
Cheer up, D-Slide. I’m sure the kids found you very amusi- er, I mean entertaining. In one way or another.
Porcupine Tree are also the absolute top producers of 40th Anniversary Deluxe Remastered albums in the world. Really top-notch work with XTC and Yes and Jethro Tull and King Crimson. So give it fifty years or so and D-Slide will work with Porcupine Tree

What grips me more with that page of Bad Machinery is the Tampopo poster – what a movie that was !
I believe I’ve watched Tampopo at least a dozen times. It’s on my desert island movie list.
. . . or the Whom.
The tween girls there don’t seem all that bothered by their apparent lack of talent. Being young male eye-candy must be enough for them.
“They came to *our* school!” tends to do a lot in itself
Head Girl who was shocked and awed is now amazed and star-struck in retrospect
Many such cases!
What the hey! Strawberry or watermelon vape? (Hurl!)
Nothing worse than walking through the fog of a sad vape party.
Or any vape parry. The glycol part of it smell like fog juice.
For a moment there I thought you said frog juice.
Nero is good. He carries off the wounded, leaves no man behind!
I don’t know anything about brit pop culture but I think I saw Jedward once at Eurovision? Is that right?
Yes, Ireland entered them not once but twice, in successive years, and my hope was that they would enter them forever.
Are D-Slide former Heeley Henlow students? That reflexive ‘Mr Thompson’ is a dead giveaway!
Good work
As a first performance I don’t think it went badly. They have already won over a group of students who adore them.
Nice Hartnell lapel clutch in panel one.
Jedward are brilliant, end of.
‘Sad Vape Party’ is your indie band name of the week.
Cackling at all of this nonsense. CACKLING, I say!
Say what you will about Dean, but when he’s right, he’s right!
Dean Thompson, our paragon of wisdom with dumpstatted charisma.
Needs moar euphonium.
I know nothing of their music, but being mates with Enya is enough of an accomplishment to me.
Also, I love how Dean has been in his mid-50s in spirit since the moment we met him.
Mid-50’s in spirit with the mid-1950’s as inspiration for his fashion sense.
You know he’s just waiting for one of these acts to dedicate a special cover of “Rock Around The Clock’ right to him.
What, so that he can wryly remark “so this is what they call music these days is it? I’m not at all sure about all this so-called rock and roll”?
In my head I’m already picturing D-Slide vs. Go-Kart Conspiracy!
I thought Porcupine Tree was the most obscure band I like. I didn’t expect to see them mentioned in a web comic. I’ll just go ahead and return my hipster badge now.
You CAN’T return it, check the back side. Fine print.
These lads will never be as good as Porcupine Tree. Jedward is a considerably lower bar.
But the kids loved it! That’s all that matters when it comes to Br-*er*-K Pop.
