Also with Glym describing Lottie as unstoppable, I now have a dream crossover between Solver and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya in my head. I think the two series would mesh really well.
Spectacular D-Slides and Spectacular Audience Reactions! The kinda calm and rational image of Claire that Glenn had has just been destroyed and that’s good. Seeing her so agitated is beautiful! I fear Linda will attempt to storm the stage.
I am sort of relieved Linda is out of frame because I’ve no doubt she went full Tits Out For The Lads from the first note. I would have liked to have seen Dean’s reaction though
When I saw the cover, I thought Claire might be really furious or she might be pretending to scream for D-Slide the way her (great?) grandmother screamed for the Beatl… er, Freddie and the Dreamers. You know, as a way to drum up excitement for the band. I never dreamed she might be doing it for real.
It sounds to me like you have a personal grudge here. Is it because John is talented and popular, while the best you can muster is shouting snarky comments from the back of the room?
Perhaps you can recommend some webcomics in which the protagonists lead lives of continuous failure and despair, with never a glimpse of success, and which are very popular as a result?
Soooom I’ve kind of been wondering this for a while now, but why exactly do you read this webcomic anyways if you actually hate it as much as you seem to claim to with these same variety of comments over and over and over again?
Lottie is the protagonist of Solvers, as a protagonist things are generally going to work out for her in the end because that is basically how stories work and have almost always worked over the course of human history. Additionally the comic is called Solvers, not Failures, so things are going to get Solved. Its all basically right there on the tin.
That and it seems like you’ve got a larger beef with John Allison for whatever reason than just this particular series, even if you seem reluctant to specify beyond shouting “tropes” to the wind self-righteously, which just adds to the confusion of why you’re taking the time out of your day to read a comic you hate, starring a character you despise, so that you can have the excuse to talk down to a creator you don’t think much of.
Even though there’s a seemingly infinite amount of other webcomics out there that you’d possibly enjoy more? It is admittedly hard to know which to recommend since you refuse to be particularly clear about the specifics of what you dislike about this one, but if its just that the female lead doesn’t go through enough extreme suffering to “earn” her victories (well, you aren’t great at reading the mood and emotions at play in these last several pages for one)…but for two maybe you’d enjoy Kill Six Billion Demons better? That is if you don’t just hate female protagonists in comics written by men, cause that’s the case there too.
I think “James F” is probably struggling with personal situations beyond the dislike of, let’s be honest, a fairly fringe and esoteric webcomic. My personal project is a very small vessel for someone’s anger. All I can say to the original poster is that I hope whatever is actually making you angry can be resolved.
MiniChibiLottie! Last panel!
Well spotted!
Goodness
I believe the vapours are upon me
Nah, The Vapours performed at Meadowhall 5 years ago.
“This is our last song and it’s called ‘Here comes the judge’.
What am I supposed to do…
Random unusual body shapes with symmetrical accomplices is the secret of attracting the attention of ladies! I wish I’d known this 25 years ago…
The classic Ginyu Force strategy. Doesn’t work as well for winning battles, though
It’s not the poses, it’s the silhouetting. ABC: Always Be Chiaroscuro.
Claire is even venting some steam from her neck.
The big question is does Claire sense the heavy sexual energy from D-Slide or does she recognize the Go-Kart Conspiracy lyrics?
Um, look at her in that last panel.
She really likes Go-Kart Conspiracy, apparently
Artists. They either really LOVE or really HATE their own stuff.
Claire loosing her mind in the last panel is the absolute best thing ever.
Definitely. A great way to start my Friday!!

I think she’s started. See how she’s leaving the last panel.
I am sort of relieved Linda is out of frame because I’ve no doubt she went full Tits Out For The Lads from the first note. I would have liked to have seen Dean’s reaction though
Someone has to save those poor boys from her!!!!
I thcream, you thrcream, we all
AIAAIEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEE
Now Glenn has to choose between going with the flow or going back to his old job.
Claire is impaled upon the 100% horn!
She’s got it bad. I mean, she’s even ditched the glasses!
The horn is strong in this one…
Rock your body back
duh-duh-duh-duduh
Read the legal pack!
The Backstreet Solicitors?
Looks like Claire is a believer now (dsliever?). This puts Glum in an awkward position.
She’ll no doubt apologize for her behavior.
I like the little puff of steam that hot-under-the-collar Claire releases in panel 2.
When I saw the cover, I thought Claire might be really furious or she might be pretending to scream for D-Slide the way her (great?) grandmother screamed for the Beatl… er, Freddie and the Dreamers. It’s not just a figment!
-Uh uh!-

-Oh yeah. Oh yeah.-
Always read the End User License Agreement!
E-U-L-A! To the tune of “YMCA”. Working out the rest is left as an exercise 🙁 for the reader.
I just sang that.
Really, how unexpected. Totally got me by surprise.
(“…but otherwise there would be no book!”)
Welp. So much for Lottie being humbled.
We all knew this was a possibility, since as Glen says, she’s unstoppable. We just weren’t sure how.
But now Glenn has seen and seems terrified of her power.
To be fair, Glenn has seemed terrified of Lottie since he met her.
Lottie was pretty much humbled during Wicked Things, and I don’t think she’s entirely recovered from that.
We’re likely in for another twist. Can the original manager hold onto a hot new sensation?
I’d also point out that we haven’t yet seen how the actual judges are reacting. For all we know, the winner’s going to be the Living Joke.
We were warned that there would be 100% of the horn, but I was not prepared
I’m concerned that 100% horn might be too much for this audience.
The question is: what’s more powerful, English horn or French horn?
Cream horn?
Sorry
Euphonium?
Euphorium.
Euphonium-ism.
Oh wow, everything worked out perfectly for John’s imaginary girlfriend and she is once again beyond reproach. Amazing work.
It sounds to me like you have a personal grudge here. Is it because John is talented and popular, while the best you can muster is shouting snarky comments from the back of the room?

Thank you for the supportive responses.
Sir, this is a John Allison positive space and if you don’t like it we’ll be happy to feed you to Krakkagar.
