It’s always dangerous to have a friend who both knows you very well AND is good at manipulating people. Fortunately, I think Mildred has Lottie’s best interests at heart.
I have been at a bar one time when a little Chinese woman walked in with a Shen Yun poster and apparently they don’t just magically appear over night but a real person asks if they can put one up.
Wait… that gentleman in panel two looks familiar… I love how eager and energetic Lottie is, but Mildred is 100% right trying to calm her down. I’m still sad for how her relationship with Jack ended, with him running away totally scared.
There have been a few hints at something in the future with her and everyone’s favorite nice bi Sonny. Someone has to ruin his family’s Christmases for years and Shelly wants to know about his dowry.
In “Space Is the Place”, she may or may not have had a thing for Tuan. (I thought she did, although she was trying to deny/avoid it.) (Too bad, I would’ve actually like to have seen that.)
I think Carrot appeared in Giant Days issue 13 and revealed his fate there. I can’t remember what his fate was. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. I may have imagined his appearance altogether.
I spy an old friend rich in vitamin A
That DOES look like Carrot, doesn’t it…
Good eye! And, good FOR eyes!
Carrot Scruggs! Glad to see him. I assume he’s happily married and saves whales.
Wow! Six arms to hold you !!

I’m now disappointed that we didn’t get a separate “Six-Armed Lottie” Christmas value stamp.
It was the rare ‘chase’ stamp, not everyone got it.
Mildred asks a fair question about the circus posters. I have wondered.
I know when the circus is town they come in to my work and ask us to put up a poster. We don’t. Head office wouldn’t like it.
You’ve perfectly captured the unique design language of the circus poster there, by the way.
They always give us a batch of fliers with all the Circus tour stops in Cornwall at work too:
PENZANCE Ponsandane Field – Next to Tesco!
NEWQUAY Opposite Morrisons!
FALMOUTH Falmouth Rugby Club!
WADEBRIDGE Cornwall Showground!
ST AUSTELL Circus Field! (Which makes sense, really)
Why can I rattle these off, why do these things stick in my mind?
If you go to the circus at Falmouth Rugby Club you can go to Penmere chipper afterwards for your supper.

YOU LIE!
Don’t step on my magical dreams with your factual explanations!
Loving mystery kids forever 24/7 all day all week all the time

Well, she IS a mad nutter, you know.
Be fair.
All of us girls are mad nutters.
In need of a memory refresher; aside from Mystery itself, has Lottie had anything close to a human love interest? Even a mild crush?

I sure hope Carrot’s got a real nice van somewhere just off-screen. If that’s still his ambition.

“…and I’ve got a literary agent and everythin’ Esther. It’s boss!”
John, your cameo game never ceases to amaze
Carrot seems to head towards where Lottie and Mildew are coming from, so this answers who is responsible for his signature hairstyle…
LOTTIE!! What happened to “Books Not Boys”?
That was Shauna!
Lottie carried the Soviet CCCP bag.
Ah, behind the curve on lurve. I know the feeling well.
Apparently Lottie fails to realize that sex doesn’t solve problems, it creates them. The anecdotal evidence to support this statement is overwhelming.
Give the girl some credit, she’s still thinking about it in terms of kissing faces.
Whether in her six-armed form or more conventional two-arm mode, Lottie is an intimidating prospect for any potential paramour.
I really want to use this on a dating profile, since my name is also Charlotte
Feel free!
I feel that Lottie is an innately lovable person, owing in part to her obvious awesomeness. She’ll do fine in time. She just needs to find her Watson.
