Frankly outrageous service
THEY GOT HIM. He’s back. I feel like Glenn Durgan is a character with a big future. Not a future where his name is spelled correctly, but a big one nonetheless.

Mr. Durgan is doing a terrible job at not seeming like an interesting puzzle. Thanks for the comics.
Does Glemm live in his car? Is he a secret space alien? Maybe his company is really a secret cult of poop-worshippers with a nefarious agenda?
Only The Englishman knows for sure!
Maybe he’s a magical poop sprite, who has the power to spring into existence anywhere there is sewage nearby. (which is pretty much anywhere in any city or town)
American continues to be unaware of the number of English people around him
He’s like Ed Gemmell’s pod person!
Glenn seems a bit afraid of Lottie’s wink in the last panel. Of course, that is generally the correct reaction.
Gloom seems spectacularly ill-equipped to deal with Lottie, and now there’s two of them. And Lottie seems to be trying out some wiles. Terror is the appropriate reaction.
Glenn seems a bit afraid of EVERYTHING in the above panels. Especially Lottie.
Glenn seems like someone who’s never been challenged in his career or brought up to question much in life, which is why he’s such a great foil for Lottie and Claire.
Deer in the headlights is Glymm’s default look.
You were in the North two days ago, too, Lottie.
That drop of sweat on Glenn’s forehead in panel 3…
You mean Glemmm[q]m.
“That’s… not important.”… I feel like that’s actually very important and good old, incredibly efficient Glenn is hiding something. Maybe Lottie is feeling it too. An interesting new mystery hidden under a mascot that is a piece of poop. Or maybe she ship Claire and Glenn… So cute how Claire’s old speech impediment reappears for a moment ♡.
Ygln is having a pleasant, yet unfamiliar feeling… of SUCCESS?
Also, I’m assuming the answer to Claire’s last-panel question is, “Because Careers+’s marketing department is staffed by people Careers+ has advised to go into marketing.”
I remember reading in a dream meaning book decades ago that poop == money so if you dream of poop it means you’ll get rich.
I have no idea where the authors of this book got this, but I bet the Careers+ guys read the same book. Poop == money == big wages!
Good ol’ Glam Duranduran!
Apologies for being so slow but what was the meaning of “least I could do under the circumstances”? I believe that we gathered that Jobby imposed Claire’s current life upon her, but it looks as if this is the first time she is meeting [yg]??[mn], so is the young man a true believer in the power of a sapient tod?
It was more an expression of surprise at how pleased Claire is with being presented with a comb-bound report.
Glænn and his “whole deal” is ment to be a mystery for now I think. I am just hoping he will turn out to be carbon-based. Some mysterious characters in the past have turn out to be onion- or seawater-based, and given the graphical identity of his organisation I am slightly worried
Onions and poop are both carbon-based as are Mer/Desmond (if they’re the seawater-based reference).
Here’s to hoping he’s human.
There’s something going on here that I don’t understand.
Is Lottie flirting or messing with Glenn…or both?
Safest bet is messing.
Messing with him, but that does involve flirt-like attitude to keep him off balance. Like in “A tailored result”, she goes “you just go at your own speed, pet” while holding his hand. Though that was probably just payback for Glonn’s initial attitude of treating Lottie as a child.
Did Lottie’s mum make a deal with a careers advice demond? Because if Glenn is a demond, I think he has to tell us or it doesn’t count?
It’s like the police, if you ask a demond if they’re a demond they have to tell you, unless they’re very bad.
As long as it’s not a careers advice Desmond. Now *that* would be really disturbing!
Interestingly, Glen Durgan is close to Pendennis.
It’s not a piece of poop! It’s a generous helping of soft-serve chocolate ice cream! Darn, I knew we shouldn’t have let my under-employed nephew design our corporate logo, but his mom insisted.
“We get a free emoji” he said, such are the famous last words
Aw, Lottie has a soft spot for Ynlg. Otherwise she’d have pointed out that he also appears to be wearing the same suit as he was two days ago, just with a different tie.
I’m trying to figure out whether Glorn has the hots for Lottie or there’s just something about her glare that shocks his soul. Or maybe both.
I felt sure that Glenn Durgan was an anagram of something significant but the best I’ve come up with is Grand Gunnel.
It’s not an anagram, it’s a place name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glendurgan_Garden
Deep valley of otters!
Claire Little! How dare you disparage Jobby like that? He’s the hardest-working poo in the business!
And beloved of Elon Musk!
He makes so little money he lives in his car. Or else he’s an intern and is making no money.
We keep seeing him consult about careers, but when are we going to see him consult about lead? His business card wouldn’t lie.
Maybe Gorg is a lead-based lifeform? That would explain his business card.
Claire goes straight to the point and addresses the elephant poop in the room! 😀
On a more general note, I, like how friggin’ LARGE Lottie’s eyes are in this chapter, whenever we see a close-up of her!
Is Glenn’s report intended to show Claire’s parents, officially, that the LSE is not her best option and therefore they need not be disappointed if she decides to study something else somewhere else?
My working assumption now is that Glym lives in the Turks & Caicos, and commutes rapidly to where he is needed via high-speed subsurface pneumatic tubes
Really lovely piece of character reveal from Mr Allison
“Thith” … to … “this”
