Will This Do?
Glenn and Lottie are not the only residents of this Bole Hill bolthole. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until the next episode of Solver to find out who else dwells within.

At least there is heat coming from the wall heater (unless those are stink lines).
Also, is the phrase “Will This Do?” what’s written in Chinese on the bag?
Was wondering that myself.
If that’s the case then it would be so simultaneous Chinese and British all at once.
Google Translate with my phone camera renders it as “will this”.
That….is BRILLIANT.
It’s what I’d expect a machine translator might produce given that English input, but it doesn’t really mean anything in Chinese as it’s ungrammatical.
An idiomatic back translation would be something like “This will?” but could also be “This know?”
A proper translation of “will this do?” is (let’s see if this form accepts Chinese) 這個行不行?
Depicted text must be what Bing Translate produced when restaurant’s marketing folks looked it up so they could send the design to the printers.
I predict there is at least one swivel-eyed sociopath under this roof.
And at some point the ex-Mrs Glym will make an appearance and Lottie will make her regret it ‘cause that’s the kind of friend she is – and Glemm is her fwend now.
Maybe the owner of Pixie Gas in Tredregyn will move next door (oh, I hope not).
At this point, Gloom must be thinking the swivel-eyed sociopath is very possibly Lottie.
Well, how blame him?
The expressions on Lotties faces the last couple of strips have been really well done.
Really making her into a real person kind of thing
Maybe one of the other residents will turn out to be Desmond Fishman. He’s been reading every page from his spot to the left just below the page, at the Patreon link, and he’s decided he wants in on this.
No To Let I’ve known comes with flatware, at least not ones that are clean. What kind of place is this? And wasn’t Glym just dumpster diving for wall panels?
Reading tomorrow’s title, my guess is that the eating irons (of whatever material they are actually composed) were left behind by whoever it is that was too busy making off with all the chairs.
The Jam Queen and the Milk Cup… together at last!
At least it’s not jam and cream. They’d always be fighting over who goes first.
Someone love this man or I swear to god…
Lottie said once that mystery was her boyfriend. Apparently their relationship has evolved to cohabitation.
Don’t worry Lottie, dealing with Glenn is like approaching some wild animal:
He seems to be more afraid of you than you’re of him!
Distinctive architecture and now an approximate location. Let the Google Street View scouring begin!
The building I used was real, but I moved its location by accident from one Bole Hill to the other and now we all have to live with it because I’ve drawn a lot of pages using Woodseats as reference. The actual former medical centre I based the building on is very close to where Susan and McGraw live in the third year of Giant Days.
It’s probably for the best that it doesn’t line up 1-1 to our reality. I’d be a bit worried about the sea monsters then.
Yay! A McGraw reference.
It’s not Lottie’s worst house share. At least she doesn’t need to leave by the roof.
Guardianship in the media (in, of course, the Guardian): artists were brought into Ernő Goldfinger’s brutalist Balfron Tower in East London as guardians when the tenants were evicted for renovation. Now the gentrified flats are up for sale, out of reach of the former tenants. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2022/jul/26/balfron-tower-britain-ugliest-building-gentrified
That reminds me of things I saw happen way too often in New York City. Like, when local residents in a neighborhood put in the work to clean up and improve their neighborhood, directly resulting in their being unable to afford to live in that neighborhood anymore. Or when all the wealthy people would move into an area to be near the artists, so the artists couldn’t afford to live there anymore. There’s something fundamentally wrong with the whole system.
Lottie’s mini-me is peeking out of a backpack pocket in panel 2.
Nice to see Lottie’s Chibi Vampirella watching her while she’s thinking about the possibility that Glenn could be a homicidal maniac and she needs weapons to defend herself. I’d love to see her casually pop up whenever Lottie has any suspicions about new people she meets. Stay strong Glenn ♡, this is just the beginning.
Good eyes — I totally missed that!
First thought was: She is going to eat him alive. Make of that what you will. Could mean a few things. The sexual ones probably being way down the list. Pretty cool building for the situation. I would be happy for stories here to continue for several years. I see them running the gamut from kitchen sink dramas, or Python versions thereof to Ballard’s High-Rise type scenarios.
Perhaps a version of The Young Ones with a cast half the size.
I suspect she may be over-optimistic about that whole “sitting down” plan.
